Let's Keep It Low-Key

Wellness and self care is for everyone, no matter what budget you have. We love treating ourselves and indulging in our favourite products and books just as much as the next person but we know that is a luxury (it definitely is for us) and it’s one that not everyone can afford so in Let’s Keep It Low-Key we will share some of our favourite wellness ideas that you can achieve on the cheap and sometimes even free. Expect to see some of our favourite DIY’s, apps and life hacks too. 


Today we are starting with a staple in our skincare routine and it just happens to be a freaking little wonder product and fairly cheap too...it’s raw honey. This food is filled with antibacterial and anti fungul properties that is perfect for your skin.


Here are some of our favourite ways to use this little pot of gold.

Face mask - If you have dry, dehydrated skin or have been in the sun all summer then you need to slather your face in this good stuff. Spoon some honey into your hands and apply like you would a normal face mask. We love to keep ours on for around 30 mins. Yes it smells so strong but honestly when you wash this off with warm water your face will thank you for its plumped, hydrated beauty

Face cleanser - This a great antibacterial face wash so if you struggle with acne, breakouts or dryness, it’s a super affordable and easy way to wash your face. Take a small about of honey onto your finger tips, rub around your face as you would your normal cleanser, try to really massage your problem areas then rinse off with warm water.

Face scrub- You will need some brown sugar for this one too - add 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a small bowl stir them together with a spoon. Apply onto your face like a mask then very gentle scrub in circular motions around your face for a few minutes and wash off with warm water. This is a super gentle and efficient scrub that you can use weekly and the difference in your skin should be noticeable after the first go. 

Spot treatment- If you have any breakouts simply dab a little honey onto the spot before bed, leave it there and wash it off in the morning. It will help redness and clear up any bacteria in the spot to help it heal quicker.
