As soon as December 1st hits, the only books we want to read are the ones involving snow, serendipitous meet cutes and so-unbelievable-but-actually-possible-because-it’s-Christmas-happily-ever-afters. Luckily for us the ‘christmas genre’ as we like to call it, is getting bigger and bigger each year. We picked out our favourite of the bunch and wanted to share them with you today. We really, really love Christmas themed books and we hope you enjoy curling up and getting cosy with one of these stories too...

One Christmas Kiss In Notting Hill by Mandy Baggot
"Imagine the perfect Christmas Kiss…
His strong arms around her waist, her hands on his face, the snow slowly starts to fall…
It’s enough to make Isla Winters cringe! While her sister can’t get enough of this increasingly common sight on the streets of London, Isla’s too busy trying to stop Hannah’s wheelchair from slipping on the ice, and making sure she’s not too late to her dream job at Breekers International.
But everything changes with the arrival of Chase Bryan, fresh from the New York office. He’s eager to learn everything about Isla’s beloved Notting Hill, but as the nights get colder, will cosying up to him come at a price?"

What says Christmas more than Notting Hill? We just adored getting to know the residents of London better in this girl meets boy love story.  Its packed with its own little mystery that the people from Isla's street have to solve which adds a perfect little bit of tension to the story too.  We loved getting to know all the characters in the book especially Hannah and the postman who both added so much to the story.  This is a wonderful contemporary, feel good Christmas read! The Little Village Christmas by Sue Moorcroft
"Alexia Kennedy – interior decorator extraordinaire, has been tasked with giving the little village of Middledip the community café it’s always dreamed of.
After months of fundraising, the villagers can’t wait to see work get started – but disaster strikes when every last penny is stolen. With Middledip up in arms at how this could have happened, Alexia feels ready to admit defeat.
But help comes in an unlikely form when woodsman, Ben Hardaker and his rescue owl Barney, arrive on the scene. Another lost soul who’s hit rock bottom, Ben and Alexia make an unlikely partnership.
However, they soon realise that a little sprinkling of Christmas magic might just help to bring this village and their lives together again"

We just loved this book.  It has a romance, community spirit, a beautiful village and a heartwarming ending, what more could you want in a Christmas book.  This is a book that you will probably read in one sitting, it's perfect to pick up and delve right into at Christmas, you won't want to put it down though, so make sure you have all your presents wrapped before you start reading.  Buy it on Amazon

The Christmas Secret by Karen Swan
"Alex Hyde is the leaders’ leader. An executive coach par excellence, she’s the person the Great and the Good turn to when the pressure gets too much; she can change the way they think, how they operate, she can turn around the very fortunes of their companies.
Her waiting list is months’ long, but even she can’t turn down the unorthodox but highly lucrative crisis call that comes her way a few weeks before Christmas, regarding the troublesome and troubled  head of an esteemed whisky company in Scotland: Lochlan Farquhar, CEO of Kentallen Distilleries, is a maverick, an enigma and a renegade, and Alex needs to get inside his head before he brings the company to its knees.
It should be business as usual. She can do this in her sleep. Only, when she gets to the remote island of Islay, with the winter snows falling, Alex finds herself out of her comfort zone. For once, she’s not in control - Lochlan, though darkly charismatic, is unpredictable and destructive, her usual methods gaining no traction with him  and with Christmas and her deadline fast approaching, she must win his trust and find a way to close on this deal.
But as she pulls ever closer to him, boundaries become blurred, loyalties loosen and Alex finds herself faced with an impossible choice as she realises nothing and no-one is as they first seemed."

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Islay, this is a stunning book that will give you all the Christmas feels as well as a little bit of light drama too.  We found ourselves rooting for Alex the whole way through, she is a great strong leading lady and we were big fans of Lochlan as well!  This is a lovely, beautifully written book that has everything in it to make it a Christmas classic that you will re-read every year. It Started With A Tweet by Anna Bell
"Daisy Hobson lives her whole life online. But when her social media obsession causes her to make a catastrophic mistake at work, Daisy finds her life going into free-fall . . .
Her sister Rosie thinks she has the answer to all of Daisy's problems - a digital detox in a remote cottage in Cumbria. Soon, Daisy has a welcome distraction  in Jack, the rugged man-next-door.
But can Daisy, a London girl, ever really settle into life in a tiny, isolated village?
And, more importantly, can she survive without her phone?"

Ok, so we cheated a bit here, not *technically* a Christmas themed book but it is out in December  and we loved it so much that we really wanted to share it.  If you are someone who is constantly stuck to their phone and the thought of pulling yourself away from it gives you chills then this book is a must read for you.  Daisy goes on a digital detox after making a mistake at work because of her social media addiction and we join her on her journey.  Daisy is such a wonderful main character and you will find yourself laughing along with her escapades and then crossing your fingers for her happily ever after. This is a really fun, contemporary story about a real thing that a lot of us are facing, this extreme attachment to our technology.  So even though its a super uplifting read, it does give you food for thought on the issue.  This is a must read over Christmas and New Year, you will love it.  This book isn't out until December 28th in paperback but you can pre-order it now or download it straight away to read on your kindle on Amazon
